The Location module in our mobile app allows you to monitor your boat's physical location, check its last connection time, and access live data when available. It is a powerful tool for keeping tabs on your boat’s position and operational status. With real-time tracking, historical connection data, and live telemetry, you can stay informed and prepared for any situation. We will break down the key elements of this module below :
1. Interactive Map
The main section of the module is an interactive map displaying your boat's last known position. You can interact with the map using touch gestures:
Move the map by dragging it with your fingers.
Zoom in and out using a two-finger pinch gesture.
This functionality provides a clear view of your boat’s location relative to surrounding waters and landmarks.
2. Centering Button
Quickly repositions the map to focus on your boat's last known location. This is especially useful when navigating away from your boat’s position on the map and needing to reset your view instantly.
3. Last Connection Status
Displays the last connection time of your boat. This information helps you determine how recent the location and live data updates are. If the boat is offline, the timestamp shows when it was last connected.
4. Live Data Panel
Provides real-time insights into your boat’s operational status. The screen starts with a reduce view, but you can use your finger to enlarge the panel by swiping your finger upwards. The available data in this section depends on your boat’s configuration, but may include:
Boat state: Indicates whether the boat is Anchored, Moored, Sailing, or Motoring.
Speed: Displays the boat's speed in knots.
Water depth: Shows the depth of water beneath the boat.
GPS position: Presented in degree-minute-second (DMS) coordinates.
Apparent wind speed: Measured in knots.
Apparent wind direction: Given in degrees (º).
Engine(s) RPM: Displays the current revolutions per minute of the engine(s)
These details enable precise tracking of your boat’s movements and ensures a comprehensive overview of its status.
